Former Ranji cricketer Rachit Bhatia has claimed that he fixed five matches during the IPL 2025 season, earning INR 60 Lakh per match, during a sting operation carried out by Tehelka. He admitted that he acted as a middleman to pass confidential information to bookies in London.
However, the report didn’t reveal the name of the CSK player who passed the information to Rachit Bhatia. He went on to disclose that he earned a total of INR 3 crore for five games. Later, he revealed he was engaged in spot-fixing during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament in the 2018-19 season.
“I fixed five matches during the 2025 Indian Premier League [IPL] season by passing inside information about the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to bookies in London via Snapchat. I earned Rs 60 lakh per match, totaling Rs 3 crore for those five matches,” revealed Rachit Bhatia to a Tehelka undercover reporter.
“I also engaged in spot-fixing during the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a tournament I played in. I deliberately bowled two wide balls, receiving Rs 8 lakh per ball from the bookies, making a total of Rs 16 lakh,” Rachit added.
“Furthermore, I paid a bribe of Rs 15 lakh to secure my selection in the Nagaland Ranji Trophy team, making my Ranji debut during the 2018-19 season,” he said.
“If you want to fix matches in IPL 2026, we need to get my player onto the team. Once he is selected, both match-fixing and spot-fixing become possible. The rate for spot-fixing in the IPL will be Rs 1 crore per match. Sharing inside information regarding the playing XI before the toss will cost Rs 60 lakh per match. This same player will also compete in the Delhi Premier League [DPL] this year. The rate for spot-fixing and providing the playing XI there will be Rs 40 lakh per match,” Rachit told Tehelka.
“I also engaged in spot-fixing during the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a tournament I played in. I deliberately bowled two wide balls, receiving ₹8 lakh per ball from the bookies, making a total of ₹16 lakh,” Rachit concluded.
