As per the schedule, India will play against the West Indies in a bilateral series consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is in the months of September-October 2026. The ODI series will commence with the match between both sides in Trivandrum on September 27 and end with the final match being played in New Chandigarh on October 3.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal
Reports have stated that Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to play in the India XI for the three ODIs against West Indies. Despite Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma opening the innings, Jaiswal remains in contention as the third opener. Jaiswal has played 6 ODIs, scoring 285 runs with two centuries and a best score of 116*. The left-hander opener is primed to take over the opening spot and has put the pressure on Rohit Sharma to continuously perform to his best.
2. Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj has not been in India’s ODI scene, especially when he was dropped for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. He has 76 wickets in 50 ODIs, with the best bowling of 6/21, which came in the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Siraj last played an ODI for India in January 2026 and, with Jasprit Bumrah away for the Asian Games, will lead the pace attack in West Indies ODIs. This will be a chance for Siraj to claw his way back into the Indian ODI team ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
1. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is another veteran cricketer who has been included in the India ODI squad for the West Indies series, who last played the format in January 2026. He has since missed England and Afghanistan in recent times. However, with Washington Sundar and Axar Patel away for the Asian Games, Jadeja has been recalled to the Men in Blue. This will be a huge chance for Jadeja to stake a claim for a spot in the Indian squad in the road to the 2027 World Cup tournament.
