In a major setback for the Indian cricketing fraternity, the veteran all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out for the forthcoming three-match India A One Day series against Australia, scheduled to start on Tuesday, October 6 in Puducherry.
According to a report on TOI, Hardik experienced pain in his right shin earlier this week and underwent a fresh set of scans. Further, the medical team has advised him to take complete rest. It was the same issue that ruled him out of selection for the Afghanistan T20Is.
Further, the report mentioned that he was also being considered for a late entry into the Asian Games. However, with complete rest for the next two weeks, it remains highly doubtful that Pandya will be available for the T20Is against New Zealand next month.
Suryansh Shedge is currently training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) and could be a like-for-like replacement for Hardik for India A One-Day games.
