NZ vs IND: 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the ODI series

NZ vs IND: 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the ODI series

In New Zealand, India will participate in five T20Is, five One-Day Internationals, and two Test matches. A divided squad for the ODI series has just been announced by the BCCI. The ODI series will start on November 4 in Auckland, move on to Wellington on November 7, Hamilton on November 10, and Mount Maunganui on November 13 and 15 for the fourth and fifth games.

Two different squads for the ODI series have been announced by India; certain players will be replaced as they prepare for the Test series. We examine three Indian bowlers to keep an eye on in ODIs today.

Here are the 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the NZ vs IND ODI series:

3. Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh is one of the two pacers who have been named in the Indian squad for all five ODIs. The New Zealand conditions will help Arshdeep Singh, who won the ICC U19 World Cup in 2018 with the Indian U19 team. The left-arm pacer has been a star in T20Is, and waiting for his chance in the ODIs, taking 30 wickets in 18 games he has played with one fiver. The New Zealand batters have a slight issue with left-arm pacers, and Arshdeep will pose some questions to Kiwi batters.

2. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav might not get to play all the games, given the conditions in New Zealand and India’s penchant for playing all-rounders and lengthy batting lineups. However, if he gets chances in the ODI series, he will throw a big challenge to New Zealand batters, who are notorious against quality spinners. They have, in the past, struggled against R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and other spinners, and with Ravindra Jadeja no longer in the Indian plans in ODIs, expect Kuldeep Yadav to play a big role.

1. Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj is back in India’s ODI plans with Jasprit Bumrah resting from the format to stay fit for the two Tests against New Zealand. Siraj has 77 wickets in 51 ODIs, with the best bowling of 6/21. New Zealand conditions will suit his swing bowling, and if he manages to increase his bowling speed as well as he did in West Indies ODIs, expect Siraj to cause a lot of trouble for Kiwi batters.
