On a rainy evening in Bridgetown, the thirteenth game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024) proved to be unlucky for Antigua & Barbuda Falcons as Barbados Royals recorded their third consecutive triumph with a ten-run victory over DLS. After being put to bat, Sam Billings and Justin Greaves put up a cool 92 runs together, which also happened to be the Falcons' highest wicket-scoring partnership, as the team amassed a respectable 176/5.

As a result, the Royals had a rough start. Mohammad Amir bowled a maiden in the Falcons' opening over, and Rahkeem Cornwall irritated, then hit his eighth delivery—his first from Chris Green—straight to Roshon Primus at mid-off.  Primus was ecstatic about the grab, but things would quickly turn drastically wrong for him.

CPL 2024 match 13 highlights:

Primus delivered a long-lasting over that went for 23 runs when the Royals were on 81/2 off eleven overs and needed 96 runs off the remaining 54 balls. After two fours, a six, four wides, and three chest-high full tosses without the ball, Primus lost his edge in the over and Quinton de Kock was caught behind for 48 off 30 balls.

With a critical run rate boost, the Royals cruised to 104/3 at the end of the over. As rain clouds gathered over Bridgetown, the players came and departed from the field a few times. Eventually, with seven overs remaining, the match was called due to a significant and strong rainstorm. On DLS, the Royals were winning by a comfortable margin of 10 runs.

After yet another assured performance at the bat, South Africa's De Kock was named Player of the Match. With three innings played and an average of 77, the southpaw has amassed 154 runs at an average of 77 in this year's competition, propelling the Royals to second place in the table on six points, with Guyana Amazon Warriors leading them only by a run rate.
