Watch! Nicholas Pooran left speechless seeing Allen's catch in CPL

On Friday, September 6, in a Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2924) game versus Trinbago Knight Riders, Fabian Allen was playing at the peak of his skills. His all-around bravery enabled the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons to win the campaign for the first time. Allen quickly reached twenty-five before taking three wickets. At the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, the Jamaican all-rounder was named Player of the Match after his team triumphed by a margin of six runs.

As a fielder, Allen was just as good. After some excellent bowling of his own, he dismissed Nicholas Pooran for a duck. The Trinbago Knight Riders were pursuing 177 runs when the incident occurred in the tenth over of the second innings. 

Shaqkere Parris was first caught in front by Fabian Allen, who then took his first wicket of the game. Afterwards, Pooran struck the long-on boundary with a forceful shot. With a quick reaction, Allen diverted the ball off his hands. Allen was prepared for another shot. Despite landing on the ground, he managed to finish the catch.

Andries Gous, the opening batsman for the Trinbago Knight Riders, was dismissed by Nicholas Pooran, and then Fabian Allen dismissed him in the twelfth over. While limiting their opponents to 170 runs, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons all-rounder let up 23 runs in his four overs. Among the other bowlers, Shamar Springer, Chris Green, and Muhammad Amir each took one wicket, and Roshon Primus took two.

During the home game, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons' top-order hitters had a nice performance. In the powerplay, Justin Greaves and Fakhar Zaman, the starting duo, scored more than sixty points. With 46 runs, Imad Wasim led his team in scoring. Against 29 deliveries, the Pakistani player scored four boundaries and two sixes. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are still in second place in the CPL 2024 points standings despite the decisive victory. Their preceding four games were losses.
