The life of a professional cricketer is often viewed through a lens of glamour, fame, and immense wealth. These athletes lead personal lives that are often vulnerable to the same emotional turmoils as anyone else. While players spend months away from home representing their nations, the strain on their personal relationships can sometimes lead to public and painful heartbreaks. Here are five cricketers who reportedly faced infidelity or significant betrayal in their relationships.

1. Smriti Mandhana

Palaash Muchhal's alleged photos of flirtatious conversations were released online shortly after the marriage announcement. These communications are purportedly owned by Mary D'Costa, who claims that Palaash had been messaging her about going out together. They are displayed in her Instagram stories.

These screenshots, which subsequently gained popularity on Reddit, appeared to show Palaash complimenting the woman's appearance and extending an invitation for a swim, spa treatment, and even a visit to Versova Beach at five in the morning. Additionally, messages alluded to Palaash discussing a "long-distance relationship" and travelling with Smriti as a challenge.

2. Dinesh Karthik

Murali Vijay, the opening batsman for India in Test cricket, wed Nikita Vanjara at the end of 2012, and the couple currently has a three-year-old kid. But it was Murali Vijay who ended his present wife's marriage to his teammate and fellow countryman Dinesh Karthik. In 2012, Karthik learnt of Murali's liaison with his partner during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match.

Karthik gave his better half a divorce right away while she was expecting a boy. Nikita wed Murali Vijay shortly after. However, after announcing their engagement in November 2013, Dinesh Karthik married Dipika Pallikal, a national squash player, in August 2015.

3. Brett Lee

Brett Lee is one of the most accomplished cricket players of his time. Even when the top batsmen were terrified by his lightning-fast bowling, women still swooned over his attractive appearance. His personal life, however, was less seamless and full of hiccups. The cricket player, who was born in New South Wales, wed Elizabeth Kemp in 2006 and had a son.

The pair announced their split and formally separated in 2009, two years after their marriage. There were several rumours that Kemp was having an affair with a Brisbane rugby player. However, the explanation given was that he was unable to spend time with the family because of his off-season obligations. In 2014, Lee wed Lana Anderson, with whom he has two kids.

4. Tilakratne Dilshan

Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan used to be among the top opening duos in One-Day International cricket. At the top of the order, the two had a number of notable partnerships for Sri Lanka. But their private lives were a portion of the tale that was frequently left untold. Tharanga married Dilshan's ex-wife, Nilanka Vithanage.

The couple's disagreement is thought to have originated from Tharanga's growing relationship with Dilshan's better half. Resadu Tillakaratne is Nilanka's son with Dilshan. The retired Sri Lankan cricket player later married Teledrama actress Manjula Thilini. The couple's marriage produced two sons and two daughters.

5. Michael Clarke

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke led his team to World Cup glory in 2015 and scored over 8,600 Test runs. His high-profile relationship with model Lara Bingle was a constant fixture in tabloids. The relationship imploded in 2010 during Australia’s tour of New Zealand. A scandal broke out involving a leaked photograph and reports of Bingle’s prior infidelity with Australian footballer Brendan Fevola. The emotional toll was so great that Clarke famously left the tour of New Zealand mid-way to return to Sydney to end the engagement.
