5 Cricketers who married twice

As they say, marriage is a beautiful institution. However, it is not always the case that one gets things properly the first time. There are many people who have been married more than once. Some people have actually been married numerous times. Of course, losing a spouse or going through a divorce are possible causes. We all need love, though, in the end.

This also applies to cricket players. A number of people have made the leap more than once. It feels like there's always another chance to find love. Five well-known cricket players who have made the leap more than once have been presented here.

1. Bishan Singh Bedi

Together with Erapalli Prasanna, Srinivas Venkataraghavan, and Bhagwat Chandrasekhar, the renowned spin quartet included former India left-arm skipper & spinner Bishan Singh Bedi, who was renowned for his deadly spin delivery.

Bedi has been married twice. In 1967, he married Glenith Miles for the first time, but they split up in the early 1970s. Bedi has two children with Glenith: a girl named Gillinder and a son named Gavas Inder Singh, who is named after the legendary Sunil Gavaskar. Following the divorce, he remarried Anju Bedi, with whom he has a daughter named Neha Bedi and a son named Angad Bedi, a well-known Bollywood actor.

2. Javagal Srinath

Former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath has taken the most wickets in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) of any Indian fast bowler, second overall, only after Anil Kumble. One of the cricket players to get married twice is the tall, lanky fast bowler who used to swing the ball both ways at a good pace.

Though their marriage didn't last long, Srinath and Jyothsna decided to get a mutual divorce in 2007. In a short time, knots were tied once more for the Mysore Express. Madhavi Patravali, the copy editor of an English newspaper, was Srinath's spouse. Only close friends and relatives were present at the low-key ceremony.

3. Vinod Kambli

For a variety of reasons, Vinod Kambli has consistently made headlines. He also holds the record for being the only cricket player to score three test hundreds in three innings against three separate nations: England, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka.

Kambli has been observed to struggle greatly in his personal life, though, which is one of the reasons his cricket career didn't reach the heights he was due. Prior to their split, Kambli was married to Noella Lewis, a receptionist at the Hotel Blue Diamond in Pune. With fashion model Andrea Hewitt, Kambli fell in love once more.

4. Mohammad Azharuddin

The chic former captain of the Indian cricket team, Mohammad Azharuddin, married Naureen in 1987. Mohammad Asaduddin and Mohammad Ayazuddin were the couple's two sons. But in 1996, after more than ten years of marriage, their union ended. The Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani and Azharuddin later got married, a union that garnered a lot of media attention at the time. Regretfully, their marriage was unable to endure over time either. Their relationship also ended in 2010 when Sangeeta reportedly filed for divorce in the midst of intense rumours about Azhar's suspected contact with several women.

5. Dinesh Karthik

Disagreements and heartache plagued Dinesh Karthik's first marriage. In 2007, he married Nikita Vanjara, a friend from his teenage years, but their marriage quickly ran afoul. There were rumours that Nikita and Karthik's former teammate, Murali Vijay, was becoming closer. She eventually married Vijay in 2012, the year her divorce from Karthik was finalised, proving that the rumours were accurate.

The incident caused a lot of media attention and was a regrettable personal setback for Karthik during his cricket career. He eventually found contentment and stability in his personal life, though, and married famous Indian squash champion Dipika Pallikal.
