5 Indian cricketers who got separated or divorced

In India, cricket is more than simply a game; it's a feeling. Cricket players' personal lives frequently garner as much interest as their on-field accomplishments, and they are regarded as demigods. However, several cricket players' marriages have suffered due to the glitz and demands of public life, resulting in well-publicised divorces and separations.

Here are some examples of other Indian cricket players who separated or divorced their spouses.

1. Ravi Shastri

After 22 years of marriage, Indian cricketer and former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri ended his relationship with his now-ex-wife Ritu Singh in 2012. Alekha, the couple's daughter, was born in 2008 after they were married in 1990.

Although the precise reason for their breakup has never been made public, it was a pivotal moment in Shastri's personal life. Shastri's busy job as a coach and pundit is thought to have contributed to the decline of their relationship. Despite the split, the former cricket player kept quiet about it and focused on his career.

2. Mohammed Shami

For almost ten years, Mohammed Shami, an ace fast bowler, has been a key component of the Indian bowling assault. Even though he has won numerous awards and taken countless wickets, his off-cricket life has generally been difficult.

In 2014, Shami wed Hasin Jahan, and they had a daughter as a blessing. But when Shami's ex-wife, Hasin Jahan, filed a formal complaint against him and his family in 2018, accusing them of domestic abuse and adultery, things started to go south. Shami was even implicated in match-fixing, according to her wife. But so far, all of her claims have been false.

3. Shikhar Dhawan

In 2023, the Delhi High Court awarded Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan a divorce from his ex-wife Aesha Mukherji based on mental cruelty. After more than a decade of marriage, Shikhar and Aesha have a son together named Zoraver. Aesha has two daughters from her former marriage, and she and Zoraver are both citizens of Australia.

She was charged with causing Dhawan great suffering because he was unable to transfer base because of his professional obligations, and she refused to move to India. Shikhar was also compelled to sell properties and pay child support, even though he was unable to see his kid for years.

4. Hardik Pandya

In July 2024, all-rounder cricket player Hardik Pandya and his wife Natasa Stankovic announced their divorce, sparking a social media frenzy. The romance between Hardik and Natasa began in early 2020. They got married in secret during the COVID-19 lockdown, and on July 30 of that year, they welcomed their first son, Agastya.

Later, on February 14, 2023, the pair married in a grandiose ceremony in Rajasthan. Unfortunately, difficulties in their union caused them to split up in 2024. Despite their seeming closeness, they eventually had insurmountable problems in their relationship, which led to their breakup in 2024.

5. Yuzvendra Chahal

The most recent Indian cricketer to file for divorce is Yuzvendra Chahal. He married dancer and choreographer Dhanashree Verma in 2020, but they had a difficult time together shortly after. After living apart for a few years, the two have finally formally called it quits on their partnership.

Chahal will give Dhanashree Rs 4.75 crore in alimony in accordance with the terms of the divorce settlement. The pair allegedly had "compatibility issues" when asked what might have caused their split.
