Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has come up with his predictions for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 campaign, which is set to start on Tuesday, September 9, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Speaking exclusively on the CREX Community YouTube shorts, Chopra predicted that India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will emerge as the Asia Cup 2025 champions, with Afghanistan advancing to the grand finale and settling as the runners-up.

Moving forward, Chopra also predicted that the Indian opening batter Abhishek Sharma will lead the run-scoring charts while the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy will lead the wickets column. Also, Chopra predicted the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya to conclude the campaign as the player of the tournament.

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE are the eight teams participating in the 17th edition of the Asia Cup this year. While the defending champions India, their arch-rivals Pakistan, the UAE, and Oman are part of Group A, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong are part of Group B.

Team India will start off their campaign against the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, September 10. Later, they will lock horns with their arch-rivals, Pakistan, on Sunday, September 14. Their last group stage will be against Oman on Friday, September 19.
