AB de Villiers reveals his all-time IPL XI; five Mumbai Indians players included

Former South African batter and analyst, AB de Villiers, has revealed his all-time IPL XI, which includes a total of five Mumbai Indians players from the present and the past. Chennai Super Kings stand-in captain MS Dhoni is all set to lead AB’s unbeatable XI.

Notably, AB played an exceptional role in propelling his South Africa Champions side to the title win over Pakistan Champions in the grand finale of the second season of the World Championship of Legends on Saturday, August 2.

AB de Villiers, speaking on his YouTube channel has picked this all-time best IPL XI with Dhoni taking up the captaincy and keeping duties at No. 7 in the batting order. Moving into the details of the XI, Rohit Sharma and Matthew Hayden will open the innings.

Moving further, former RCB captain, Virat Kohli, takes up the No.3 spot. Notably, Kohli played a pivotal role in taking the Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise to its first-ever IPL title in the recently concluded IPL 2025 season.

Subsequently, Mumbai Indians top-order batter Suryakumar Yadav occupies the No.4 slot while AB de Villiers himself has been slotted at the fifth position in the batting order. Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya takes up the batting all-rounder slot in the XI.

Moving forward, Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Maliga, Mumbai Indians’ present and past, will form the pace battery with two spinners part of the XI. Yuzvendra Chahal and Daniel Vettori are part of the spin attack in AB’s line-up.

While the team looks unbeatable, the Mumbai Indians players have dominated AB’s XI with a total of five players picked from the Mumbai-based franchise.
