Former Indian cricketer and cricket analyst Mohammad Kaif has stated that the Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, has finally got Rohit Sharma’s replacement in Abhishek Sharma in the shortest format of the game.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif also felt that Abhishek has the capability of hitting six sixes in an over, adding that he has the capacity to win the games for India single-handedly and bag the player of the match awards.

“When Abhishek Sharma delivers with the bat, he wins the Man of the Match. When he plays, he alone wins the game. When Rohit Sharma left, there was a question about his replacement and who would bat powerfully in the powerplay? We’ve got the answer, and the name is Abhishek Sharma,” Kaif said on his YouTube channel.

“It’s not batting, it’s his statement. On his day, he can destroy a bowler’s career during the power play. He can even hit six sixes in six balls. And, see, it will happen in the future. Abhishek Sharma will hit six sixes in six balls. I am saying this on my YouTube channel because it will happen. The range of shots that he has, the mental power, and the understanding of the game. He plays fast bowlers well, and he is equally good against spin,” he added.

It’s important to note that Abhishek is currently the leading run-scorer of the Asia Cup 2025 campaign with 173 runs from four innings at an average of 43.25 and a strike rate of 208.43, including one half-century.

After the last Super Four clash against Sri Lanka on Friday, September 26, India will next take on Pakistan in the grand finale on Sunday, September 28, in Dubai.
