Afghanistan set to host Bangladesh ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

Afghanistan will host Bangladesh for a white-ball series in the UAE, featuring T20Is and ODIs, as both teams gear up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

With the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled next year, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has decided to host Bangladesh for a white-ball series, comprising three ODIs and as many T20Is from October 2 to 14 in the United Arab Emirates.

The series will begin with the three-match T20I series on October 2. Later, the action shifts to the three-match ODI series, starting on October 8. Notably, the series will start after the successful completion of the Asia Cup 2025 campaign.

Fans can look forward to exciting matches and top-level competition,” Naseeb Khan, CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, said.

“We look forward to taking on Afghanistan in what promises to be a competitive and exciting white-ball series in the UAE. This tour not only presents valuable competition following the Asia Cup but also reflects the mutual respect and strong relationship between our two cricket boards,” Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB CEO, said.

Moreover, Afghanistan is set to lock horns with Pakistan and the UAE in the tri-series, starting on August 29 in the UAE. On the other hand, Bangladesh will be taking on the Netherlands in a three-match T20I series.
