On Wednesday, September 17, Pakistan, led by Salman Ali Agha, qualified for the Super Four stage, and they will next take on the Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai in the Super Four round. Notably, each team has to take on the other three sides in the Super Four stage before the top two teams make it to the grand finale.

Interestingly, there was a lot of drama ahead of the Pakistan vs UAE game on Wednesday, with the Salman Ali Agha-led side aiming to boycott the game after Indian players denied customary handshakes on Sunday, September 14. However, the Pakistan side went ahead with the fixture after a one-hour delay.

Shifting our focus to the details of the game, Pakistan batted first after losing the toss, scoring a good-looking 146/9 in 20 overs. While Fakhar Zaman smacked 50 runs in 36 balls with two fours and three sixes, in the death overs, Shaheen Shah Afridi scored a quickfire 14-ball 29-run unbeaten knock with three fours and two sixes.

Junaid Siddique scalped a four-wicket haul while Simranjeet Singh picked up three wickets. In reply, the UAE could score only 105 runs in 17.4 overs. Keeper-batter Rahul Chopra was the top scorer, amassing 35 runs in 35 balls with a four and a six.

For the unversed, India continues to lead the Group A points table with an unbeaten record, and Pakistan holds the second rank with two wins and a loss. The UAE and Oman have been eliminated from Group A.
