Here at the Bellerive Oval on Sunday, the Women in Blue formed a guard of homage for retiring wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy as she batted in her final 50-over appearance in the third ODI against India. Before Sneh Rana concluded her outstanding performance in the 37th over, the departing wicketkeeper batsman stood firm at the crease with 158 off 98 balls. He earned a century in his farewell ODI in Australian colours.

In order to allow the young Australian players to get ready for the T20 World Cup, which starts later this year, Healy did not participate in the T20 leg of the series. After participating in the day-night Test match against India at Optus Stadium in Perth from March 6 to 9, she will say goodbye to the sport.

AUS W vs IND W 2026 Special Tribute:

Healy was playing the last ODI of her storied career on Sunday, March 1, so it was a memorable day. Healy and Phoebe Litchfield walked out to open after India won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Australian skipper received a guard of honour from the Indian squad in recognition of her services to Australian cricket as well as to the sport overall.

BCCI Women wrote on X, “Team India formed a guard of honour before the start of play today for Australia captain Alyssa Healy, who is playing her final ODI match." Healy declared in January of this year that following the home series against India, she would end her illustrious 16-year international career. Before retiring in front of the home fans, the wicketkeeper-batter is leading Australia in a multi-format tour that includes three ODIs, three T20Is, and a single Test.

In ten Test matches, she has amassed 489 runs. She has amassed 3054 runs in 162 T20Is and 3619 runs in 123 ODIs. She succeeded Meg Lanning as Australia's full-time captain in December 2023. The final score of Healy's knock was 158 off 98 balls. During her knock, the seasoned campaigner struck two sixes and 27 fours. Australia won the first two One-Day Internationals, and following Sunday's incredible century from Healy, the Women in Yellow would want to give the Gold Coast native a proper send-off.
