Australia A pacer Henry Thornton has been hospitalised due to food poisoning during the ongoing India A vs Australia A one-day series at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Notably, Thornton, who fell ill with a stomach infection, was admitted to Regency Hospital in Kanpur.

According to the various reports in the Indian media, the pacer developed gastrointestinal issues after consuming food at the team hotel. Though the local team management tried to monitor his condition initially, the severity of the infection propelled the medical team to admit him to the nearby hospital.

Fortunately, he was discharged after showing signs of full recovery and has now rejoined the squad. Furthermore, the local manager’s statement revealed that the pacer was dealing with mild gastro symptoms even before arriving in the city. However, his condition worsened after reaching Kanpur.

Eventually, the Australia A team management and medical team have allegedly revised the diet plan for the entire squad after this unfortunate incident.
