The Pakistani Cricket players will face harsh punishment from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their recent disorganised performances. Across all formats, Pakistan's cricket team is having a poor run. This year, the Men in Green have only triumphed once in three Test matches. Additionally, out of the 11 games they have played, they have only managed two ODI victories.
They have seven wins and an equal number of losses in T20Is. Both teams are ranked lower than the team, which recently suffered a surprising loss to Bangladesh in the T20I series and was thrashed by the West Indies in the ODIs.
Consequently, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is getting ready to impose harsh financial sanctions on players for the national team. The PCB is apparently going to eliminate the 3% ICC income share from central contracts, which players obtained two years ago, as part of a significant contract revamp, according to Sports Now. The board would consider the bonus unwarranted in light of recent performance, and this move would drastically cut compensation.
The PCB has raised the budget for retainership expenses by 37% (319 million PKR) over the previous year, bringing the total to approximately 1,173.49 million rupees, according to a CricketPakistan article. However, the board is not likely to raise the players' match fees. A player currently receives approximately 12 lakh for each Test match, 6 lakh for each ODI, and 4 lakh for T20Is.
The monthly total for players in the A category is 6.57 million (sixty-five lakh seventy-five thousand), which is the sum of 4.5 million and 2.07 million from the ICC share. Including 1.5525 million, 1.035 million, and Rs 517,500 from the ICC share, the salaries in categories B, C, and D are 4.5525 million, 2.035 million, and 1.2675 million, respectively.
Every contracted player will experience a significant wage reduction once the provision is lifted, since they will no longer receive the approximately 6 crore PKR that they receive from their ICC share. The new contracts could be revealed by the PCB prior to the Asia Cup.
