The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have reached a consensus to postpone the August 2025 white-ball series between Bangladesh and India, which consists of three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, until September 2026. Following conversations between the two Boards, this decision was made while taking into consideration both teams' schedule convenience and international cricketing commitments.
A media release by BCCI stated, "This decision has been reached following discussions between the two Boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams. The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course."
BAN vs IND 2025 Update:
In September 2026, the BCB is excited to welcome India for this highly anticipated series. The tour's updated schedule and dates will be revealed soon. Furthermore, none of the governing bodies has yet to provide any further information about the white-ball bilateral series that will take place before the crucial Asia Cup. Tensions over commerce are currently present between Bangladesh and India. The Indian government declared significant import route limitations on commodities, notably Bangladeshi processed foods and ready-made clothing, on May 17.
The last time India and Bangladesh played each other was in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which India won by a margin of six wickets. The two nations' most recent bilateral series, which included three Twenty20 Internationals and two Test matches, took place in India in 2024. India prevailed 2-0 and 3-0 in both series.
Following their successful performance at the T20 World Cup 2024, when Rohit Sharma and his team defeated South Africa in the finals to win the championship, India will be participating in their first big event ever with the Asia Cup. Suryakumar Yadav is anticipated to captain the Men in Blue for the forthcoming event in the game's shortest format now that Rohit has retired.
