Three new appointments have been announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after its meeting on Saturday, August 9, in Dhaka. A three-month contract has been agreed with Julian Wood, a batting specialist who is well-known for his power-hitting prowess and previous work with Sri Lanka Cricket. For a twelve-month tenure, Alex Marshall has been named a consultant to the board's anti-corruption division.

Along with Julian Wood and Tony Hemming, Marshall is one of three new hires. Hemming, who previously worked as PCB's head curator, has been named head of turf management. Hemming served from July 2023 to July 2024 at the BCB. Before September of last year, Marshall was the General Manager of the ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit.

Alex Marshall's New Role in BCB:

Iftekhar Rahman, the chair of the BCB's media committee, stated that Marshall's job will be to strengthen the board's anti-corruption efforts. Rahman further stated that the ICC's Integrity Unit has been assigned by the BCB to supervise anti-corruption initiatives in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

ESPN quotes Rahman saying, "Tony Hemming has been appointed head of turf management for two years. All our international venues and curators will be under him. He will also undertake the process of training Bangladeshi curators. All the board directors had a lot of interest in bringing him back. Hemming is one of the best curators in the world. Maybe he had a good experience with the BCB on a previous occasion, which is why he agreed to come back. The turf management will run as Hemming wants. Time will tell if Gamini will stay or not. He has been given a 12-month extension"

The BCB's Anti-Corruption Unit is presently looking into claims of corruption pertaining to the Dhaka Premier League and the BPL 2024–25 season. Furthermore, Tony Hemming, who was the head curator at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), recently resigned and rejoined the BCB as a curator. Notably, prior to taking up his position in Pakistan, he had previously worked as the curator of BCB from July 2023 to 2024.
