On Tuesday, October 21, the Senior Men’s Selection Committee announced India A’s squads for the two four-day matches to be played against South Africa at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Notably, the first four-day match will commence on Thursday, October 30, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. The second four-day game will be played from Thursday, November 6, at the same venue.
Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant will make his return to professional cricket as captain of the squad for both games. For the unversed, Pant fractured his foot during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and, since then, has missed out of the action. On the other hand, Sai Sudharsan has been elevated as the deputy for Pant.
There have been notable changes in the squads for the first and second four-day games. KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Akash Deep have been selected for the second four-day game, while they are not part of the first four-day match.
