Karun Nair is all set to miss the KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025 after the BCCI Centre of Excellence denied him fitness clearance. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the competition for the Mysore Warriors.

Initially, Nair had travelled to Mysore but later returned to Bengaluru for rehab. Now, with no clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence, he has been ruled out of the tournament, which is a big setback both for his team and the competition.

Nair was recently in action for Team India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, where he made a comeback to the Test side after eight years. However, the experienced batter could not meet his and his fans’ expectations with the bat. He featured in the first three Tests but was dropped for the fourth before returning for the final match at The Oval. Overall, he finished the series with 205 runs in four innings at an average of 25.62, including just one fifty.

Throughout the series, Nair often got starts but failed to convert them into big scores. Speaking after the tour, in an exclusive chat with ESPNcricinfo, he admitted to being disappointed with the missed opportunities.

"It was an up-and-down series in that sense, and I did reflect a lot.” - Karun Nair

"I was disappointed at not being able to convert the start at The Oval into a century," he said. "But looking back, it was quite important to grind my way on that first day with the team in a tricky position. I'd done well there previously; I'd gotten a 150 for Northants against Surrey. The nerves were there, but I was feeling good. I was hoping to convert, which I couldn't.”

"It was an up-and-down series in that sense, and I did reflect a lot. But it's also important to let go of what has happened and look forward to what I need to do in the next few months. It's about keeping my focus levels up and making sure I go on and make big scores, irrespective of the level I'm playing at," Karun Nair added.
