Blank jerseys for Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill, as no lead sponsor for Team India in the Asia Cup 2025

Fans will notice a distinctive shift as India gets ready for the Asia Cup 2025. Superstar players like Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav will wear jerseys with the word "India" displayed more prominently rather than a sponsor logo. According to the Hindustan Times, this is because Team India would be participating in the event without a primary sponsor.

This comes after Dream11 abruptly cancelled its multi-million dollar agreement with the BCCI due to new government rules that affected its main business strategy.

Time is thought to have been a factor in the decision made at the BCCI emergency Apex council meeting. Thursday, August 28, was the date of the meeting. Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI's acting president, presided over the meeting. There were rumours a few days ago that Toyota had expressed interest in sponsoring Team India. However, given the limited time, it is acknowledged that the Indian board was unable to make any final decisions.

This is the first time an Indian team has played without a sponsor in a non-ICC tournament, despite the fact that Indian players had previously been spotted without a title sponsor at ICC events, where rules forbid showing sponsors' names.

The search for a new sponsor has already begun by the BCCI. Interested companies have until the middle of September to submit offers after an official Invitation to Tender (ITT) was issued. However, the squad will start its campaign without any marking on the jersey because the Asia Cup Indian team updates reveal that the tournament starts on September 9.

India is unquestionably the clear favourite to win the Asia Cup, which is contested by eight nations. India will play their opening match against the United Arab Emirates the day after the event begins on September 9. On September 14, the Indian squad takes on their bitter enemies, Pakistan, in the crucial match. The Dubai International Stadium would host the game.
