India has qualified for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-finals after they defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan in Group A matches. Along with India, New Zealand has also qualified for the knockouts, defeating the same two teams in Group A.
In the group B, Australia and South Africa are battling it out for qualification for the semi-finals, along with England and Afghanistan. Both South Africa and Australia have played two games and won one and one was rained off. This leaves a very interesting qualification scenario for both teams in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In Dubai, India defeated Bangladesh by six wickets to start the Champions Trophy tournament. Bangladesh made 228 runs with Towhid Hridoy scoring 100 after opting to bat first. India's Mohammed Shami scored 5/53. Shubman Gill scored 101* in response, and India easily won.
Hardik Pandya's two wickets and Kuldeep Yadav's three wickets held the Men in Green to 241 runs against Pakistan. Virat Kohli responded by smashing his 51st ODI century, leading India to victory by 6 wickets and a trip to the semi-finals.

Australia played its first game in CT 2025 against England at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. England was put into bat first. Ben Duckett scored 165 with 17 fours and 3 sixes, while Joe Root made 68 runs as England posted 351/8 in 50 overs. Ben Dwarshuis picked three wickets for Australia, while Adam Zampa and Marnus Labuschagne picked two wickets.
Matthew Short made 63 to hold one end, but Australia lost wickets in a bunch. But then, Josh Inglis with 120* with 8 fours and 6 sixes, and Alex Carey with 68, led Australia to a famous win by 5 wickets. This was the highest total chased in an ICC Champions Trophy game and in any ICC 50-over event.
