Given the absence of Mitchell Starc, the rest of Pat Cummins, and the niggle suffered by Josh Hazlewood, a position in Australia's speed attack was available for someone like Nathan Ellis. Ellis had a hamstring injury prior to the Scotland series, which will prevent him from playing in the Scotland tour. Six of the nine white-ball matches the Australians are playing in the United Kingdom are against England.

Since Ellis is still recovering from a hamstring tendon injury sustained during The Hundred while playing for London Spirit, he will miss his upcoming matches. Cricket Australia has been informed that the bowler will return home to finish his recuperation. It is noteworthy that the player, who was born in New South Wales, was scheduled to play against England starting on September 19.

Nathan Ellis in a turmoil:

This has been the 29-year-old's situation, having to bide his time until Starc, Cummins, or Hazlewood had a chance to rest. Nevertheless, the Australian right-arm bowler took four wickets in three T20 World Cup 2024 matches. He has taken 28 and 10 wickets in 17 T20Is and 8 ODIs, respectively, during his playing career.

Good news for Australia: Hazlewood is scheduled to arrive in the UK before the first Twenty20 international match between Australia and England at the Utilita Bowl. Riley Meredith may be available for Somerset on T20 Blast Finals Day upon his arrival, barring Australia designating him as a cover. The pacer participated in his first match for the national squad since 2021, which is noteworthy.

ESPNcricinfo cited a CA spokeswoman, "After recovering from a slight calf strain, [he] will join the squad in Southampton" It will be interesting to see how the recovery pans out for the cricketer Nathan Ellis. Keep a watch at this space for more cricket news updates.
