Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal went viral on social media after he was spotted with internet personality RJ Mahvash during the Champions Trophy final. A day later, on March 10, his estranged wife, Dhanashree Verma, shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story, which read, “Blaming women is always in fashion.”
The post comes amid ongoing discussions about Chahal’s personal life, especially after his recent public appearance with RJ Mahvash. Chahal was seen sitting alongside the social media influencer, dressed in a black hoodie and t-shirt, accessorized with a silver necklace, and appeared to be in a relaxed and cheerful mood.
Dhanashree has been the subject of online trolling, particularly after reports confirmed that she and Chahal were proceeding with a divorce. She has received considerable backlash over alleged claims that she demanded a substantial alimony amount from the cricketer. However, her family has strongly denied such reports, calling them baseless and urging people not to spread unverified information.
The matter is now in the court, as per the lawyer
Recently, her lawyer, Advocate Aditi Mohoni, confirmed to India Today that the matter is now in court.
“I have no comments to make on the proceedings, the matter is currently sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated,” she said.
One of the most viral claims suggested that Dhanashree had demanded Rs 60 crore in alimony. However, her family issued a statement condemning these rumors and urged media outlets to act responsibly.
“We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumors whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint and fact-check before spreading misinformation and also be respectful towards everyone’s privacy,” a family member of Dhanashree stated.
Chahal and Dhanashree, who got married in 2020, were often seen together in social media videos, entertaining their fans with fun and lighthearted content. However, with their legal separation now making headlines, their personal lives have come under intense public scrutiny.
