Dinesh Karthik discloses Virat Kohli is keen to play the ICC ODI World Cup 2027

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Dinesh Karthik has revealed that the Indian No.3 batter Virat Kohli is keen to play the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

Speaking on his official Instagram handle, Karthik stated that Kohli is a chase master and he has been training hard during his big lay-off from the game since the conclusion of the successful IPL 2025 season. 

Furthermore, Karthik also disclosed that Kohli has been practicing for two to three sessions a week, adding that he is very serious about playing the ICC mega event in 2027. He also noted that Kohli is someone who can perform under pressure.

“He is the chase master. He is keen to play in that World Cup. He was training during this big lay-off that he had had (in London) for a long time in his life. I also know he practised cricket easily 2-3 sessions a week. Now, it tells you that the man is serious about wanting to play this World Cup,” Dinesh Karthik said on his Instagram handle.

“If he is around, there is no tension because he knows what it takes to perform under pressure. And, he's done that time and time again. I'm very confident he will do it again,” he concluded.
