For the 2025 season, India's most prominent red-ball domestic competition, the Duleep Trophy, will return. As is typical, the BCCI's domestic season in 2025–2026 will also begin with this premier tournament. The Duleep Trophy, which was played amongst secondary national teams the season before, will now be played on a zonal basis.

India A defeated India C by 132 runs in the final at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur to win the renowned trophy in the previous edition. The team was led by Mayank Agarwal. In the meantime, the South Zone defeated the West Zone by 75 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the final of the previous zonal system.

Duleep Trophy 2025 Full Schedule:

South Zone and West Zone have been directly granted a spot in the semi-finals due to their achievements in the previous season. While the West Zone has been assigned to play the victor of the second quarter-final matchup between Central Zone and North East Zone, the South Zone team will take on the winner of the first quarter-final matchup between North Zone and East Zone.

Top cricket players from across the nation who demonstrated their abilities during the previous domestic season have been given a spot in the competition, which will once again be played in the zonal format. For instance, teams from Andhra, Puducherry, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Hyderabad.
