Fans speculate affair between Virender Sehwag’s wife Aarti and BCCI president Mithun Manhas

Virender Sehwag, a former Indian cricket opener, and his wife Aarti Ahlawat are reportedly splitting up after more than 20 years of marriage. This development has attracted the attention of the cricketing community.  

Adding fuel to the accusations, Mithun Manhas-Sehwag's longtime friend and newly appointed head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now being blamed for the divorce and having an affair with Aarti.

The news surfaced shortly after Manhas officially assumed the BCCI presidency, following Roger Binny's resignation in August 2025.

Sehwag and Aarti apparently unfollowed each other on Instagram a few months ago, and other sources indicate that the couple has been living apart for some time. According to reports, a divorce may be forthcoming. 

Sehwag and Ahlawat married in 2004 and have two boys, Aaryavir and Vedant. Man has had a successful domestic cricket career from 1997 to 2017. Both of Sehwag's kids, Aaryavir and Vedant, have followed in their father's footsteps and played cricket, most recently in the Delhi Premier League 2025.

Sehwag last posted a photo with his wife on social media on April 28, 2023. During Diwali 2024, he shared a family photo with just himself, his son, and his mother. The omission of Ahlawat from this post has fueled suspicion regarding their relationship status. 

Journalist Abhishek Tripathi fueled the fire with a cryptic social media post on October 7, 2025. He cited a 2009 issue involving Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik. The message implied that a former cricketer was establishing a new relationship with a teammate's spouse.

Fans speculated further after discovering that Sehwag and Aarti's two boys, Aryavir and Vedant, follow Mithun Manhas on social media.

Mithun Manhas became the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to be elected president of the BCCI. 

In a viral video, journalist Abhishek Tripathi discussed Mithun Manhas' friendship with Virender Sehwag. He stated that, while they had a wonderful rapport, there was an underlying sensitive matter that he preferred not to discuss publicly.

"Mithun Manhas' relationship was good with Virender Sehwag, but there is also a catch behind it, and because it's a sensitive catch, I don't want to mention it here," Abhishek said.
