Former Indian cricketer and commentator Atul Wassan has lashed out at the Pakistani players for complaining against India for not doing the customary handshakes after the match. He also stated that the Pakistan team has become so shameless that they want to force the Indian team into shaking hands.

Moving into the details of the incident, Indian players, including the unbeaten batters Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube, decided not to shake hands with the Pakistani players, who waited near the Indian dugout and dressing room. However, the Indian players and support staff closed the Indian dressing room door right after the end of the game, which didn’t go down well with the Pakistani team.

“They have become so shameless that they want to force us into shaking hands. What kind of mentality do they have? Everyone came to know that you had been insulted. If we are not willing to meet you, then why are you insisting? They insulted themselves more after filing the complaint,” Wassan said in a video shared by ANI.

Interestingly, after the controversial incident, PCB was quick to lodge an official complaint with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), calling the Indian players’ behaviour of not shaking hands as ‘unsporting’. Speaking on the same, Atul has asserted that the complaint shows how immature and juvenile the Pakistan team is.

“The complaint shows how immature and juvenile they are… There is no code of conduct (of shaking hands). We are not poking you, nether are we smiling at you because we are just tolerating you. Our message was clear that we played for the eco-system but do not to expect anything more from us because we don’t like you at all…” he added.
