Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali is currently busy playing for Karachi Kings (KK) in the ongoing PSL 10. After winning their season opener, they lost the last game against Lahore Qalandars. But Hasan had a good game as he picked up four wickets for 28 runs and also scored 27 (25) with the bat.
However, despite this performance, he has hit the headlines over a viral video on social media where Hasan was seen apologising over a comment that he made regarding Babar Azam in 2023. Babar is currently leading Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing PSL.
In 2023, ahead of the ODI World Cup, Hasan called Babar ‘King’ on a podcast. That clip went viral, and unfortunately, since then, both as a batter and skipper, Babar has had a horrible time. Under his captaincy, Pakistan underperformed in both the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Now, in the viral video, Hasan was seen apologising over his ‘King Kar Lega’ comment during a press conference in the PSL. But he also remained confident that Babar would come back soon, as he is still the best.
He was seen saying: “If people think that by saying ‘King nahi karega (King won’t do it)’ Babar will end up scoring runs, and then I am happy to say that. But in the past, people have said a lot of things have happened. I can show you what all people have said. He is our product. If you think I made a mistake by saying 'King Karlega,' then I apologise, but the statement remains the same. He was the best, is the best, and will bounce back soon. Everyone goes through tough times.”

In two matches so far in this ongoing PSL, Hasan has picked up five wickets. He is expected to deliver in the upcoming matches also. KK are in the fourth spot currently with two points in two games, with a net run rate of -1.417. Their next clash is against Quetta Gladiators (QG), who are in the third spot with two points in two games, in Karachi on 18 April.
