“The franchise has invested a lot of money” - Heinrich Klaasen after his match-winning century vs KKR

Sunrisers Hyderabad middle-order batter Heinrich Klaasen has opened up on his match-winning century against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the team’s last league game of the IPL 2025 season as SRH bagged a 110-run win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, May 25.

Notably, SRH finished the season at the sixth rank with six wins and seven losses in 14 games, picking up only 13 points. While the franchise had an inconsistent season right from the start of the campaign, they concluded the competition with a hat-trick of wins.

Delving into the details of the game, SRH batted first after winning the toss. Travis Head went on to score 76 runs in 40 balls with six fours and as many sixes, while Heinrich Klaasen smacked 105* runs in 39 balls with seven fours and nine sixes. 

Eventually, SRH posted a daunting total of 278/3 in 20 overs. In the chase, KKR got all out for 168 runs in 18.4 overs, losing the game by 110 runs. Klaasen thanked the franchise owners and team management for the incredible holiday they had mid-way through the season.

“As I said earlier, the franchise has invested a lot of money, they have been here for 12-13 years. We played brilliant cricket for the last three games, they gave us an incredible holiday and thanks to them. It's a pride for us as well, a lot of stars did not kick on, today I did,” Klaasen said at the post-match presentation.

That's normally the plan on this wicket, the straight boundaries are short and the other boundaries are 50 or 60 metres. I look to play straight and did not take on too many fielders and I'm pleased for that. (on picking the lengths) I have worked a lot on it, I have to spend a lot of time in the nets getting it right,” he added.
