Before the first One-Day International (ODI) against New Zealand, Virat Kohli, the top batsman for India, arrived at the airport in Vadodara to be greeted by an enormous crowd. The format calls for a three-match series between the host team and the Blackcaps. The opening game will take place at Vadodara's BCA Stadium on January 11. On Wednesday, Kohli—who only participates in ODIs as an international player—arrived in Gujarat. In a terrible turn of events, the crowd that was there to greet him mobbed him. With difficulty, the security guards escorted Kohli to his vehicle outside the airport.

Fans are ecstatic about Kohli's visit because he is currently playing in just one international cricket format, making every appearance a major event. For the first time in fifteen years, senior professional Kohli participated in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the List A format.
