On Monday, January 20, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) in Dubai, Desert Ipers and Dubai Capitals engaged in a furious struggle in the 13th match of the International League T20 (ILT20 2025). In the ITT20 Season 3 at the Dubai International Stadium, the Dubai Capitals produced an incredible six-wicket victory, ending the Desert Vipers' unbeaten run.
The Vipers were held to 139 by a strong bowling effort led by Dushmantha Chameera and Zahir Khan's three-wicket hauls. The Capitals ended a three-match losing streak when Gulbadin Naib spearheaded the chase with a scorching 78-run innings off 51 balls.
Vipers were bowled out for 139 in 20 overs after batting first. Azam Khan (10) and Wanindu Hasaranga (13) made brief contributions until Zahir Khan overtook both. With three sixes in his 27 runs off 24 balls, Sherfane Rutherford gave some optimism, but Chameera hit for the third time in the last over to put an end to his attack.
ILT20 2025 Match 13 Review:
Gulbadin Naib, the player of the match, stated, “We were at the bottom of the table, so we were looking for momentum. There’s still a long way to go. It’s not easy facing bowlers of this quality. Luckily, I gave myself some time. After the drinks break, the staff told me I was looking good, so I said to Sikandar, I will play to my strengths.”
Lockie Ferguson, the captain of the Desert Vipers, stated, “It was a tough one. We were probably a few runs short and had some chances. They bowled well, and the pitch spun. There’s a quick turnaround again, but the boys have been batting beautifully.”
Brief Scores:
