India vs West Indies 2025: 5 Bowlers to watch out for in the Test series

Two Tests, two home venues and different jobs for the bowlers. India will want control and spin, while the West Indies will look to seize early moments with pace. Here are five bowlers who can decide how this series progresses forward.

1. Jasprit Bumrah 

Bumrah remains India’s single most feared bowler in Test cricket. Precise lengths, a seamer that hits the deck hard, and death-over yorkers that paralise batters in limited-overs cricket as well as in red-ball cricket. 

The selectors have named him in the two-Test squad, and the management expects him to play both matches, so India will rely on him to make early inroads and manage the new ball spells. 2. Ravindra Jadeja

3. Kuldeep Yadav

India’s selection includes Kuldeep among the spin options, and on surfaces that grip, he can be the bowler to rip short partnerships apart, especially if the West Indies batters misjudge turn and flight. He is expected to play in this upcoming series.

4. Jayden Seales

Seales is the young fast bowler who already has big-match experience. He swings the ball both ways and can push the ball through at pace while keeping surprisingly good control. 

For the West Indies, Seales is probably the go-to strike bowler in Indian conditions because he can extract movement in the morning and bowl probing spells that create catching chances. If Seales finds early lateral movement in Ahmedabad or Delhi, he’ll be the one to unsettle India’s top order.

5. Alzarri Joseph

Alzarri is the tall, aggressive, quick one who gets an extra reward from any pitch that offers carry. He bowls with a heavy arm and can crack through top orders with short, sharp bursts, particularly with the new ball or when attacking with the second new ball. 

Even if conditions soften, Joseph’s bounce and ability to punch through with steeper deliveries make him a constant threat. The West Indies will look to him for game-changing spells that force India to rebuild.
