On Saturday, October 4, the Ajit Agarkar-led Indian Senior Men’s Selection Committee met in Ahmedabad, where India won the first Test vs WI by an innings and 140 runs to unveil the ODI and T20I squads for the Australian tour.

While Shubman Gill has been appointed as the new ODI captain, Shreyas Iyer has been named his deputy. Interestingly, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have returned to international cricket since the successful ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign.
