Virat Kohli

It is difficult to overlook Virat Kohli while discussing a list of key players for a game involving him. However, Kohli makes this list because of his recent form rather than his previous performances. With the aid of seven half-centuries, the star batter has scored 548 runs in 12 games this season, good for sixth place on the Orange Cap standings. 

The Bengaluru-based team will need the star at his peak in the playoffs if they want to end their trophy jinx in the 2025 Indian Premier League. Kohli has been leading the charge for RCB in the chases, helping them secure points after points.

Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood has done a fantastic job this season in managing RCB's bowling unit, which has been one of their main issues over the years. The Australian pacer, who has taken 18 wickets in 10 games, is ranked fourth in the season's top wicket-takers list. 

RCB will be counting on his economical bowling, not just in the powerplay but in the death overs as well, to win in the playoffs. Bengaluru supporters will be hoping that he returns to form after suffering a shoulder injury during the IPL.

Despite having only 301 runs under his belt and ranking 25th in the Orange Cap leaderboard, Phil Salt, the Englishman who opens for RCB, may not seem like a major player to casual spectators, but it is his explosive power play stats that are enabling the rest of the team to take advantage of the later overs to win the game. 

Since he gives Virat Kohli the time to settle without worrying about the run rate during power plays, Salt is one of the main reasons why Kohli has been playing at his best this season. He is going to be quite important for the team in the playoffs.
