IPL 2025: 3 Worst signings by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who sought success with a redesigned roster, had an exciting 2025 IPL season.  Even though they made it to the playoffs in spectacular fashion, several of their acquisitions fell short.

Key additions' poor performance hindered their progress and revealed planned flaws.  These were some of RCB's most dubious decisions of the season because these players had trouble with impact, consistency, and form.

Here are the 3 Worst signings by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025:

1. Rasikh Salam Dar

Despite being brought in to bolster RCB's pace attack, Rasikh Salam Dar was unable to contribute. His performances lacked the breakthroughs the squad required, even though he was regarded as a promising talent.

He took one wicket while allowing 70 runs in two games for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He had an economy of 11.66 and an average of 70. His failure to perform at key times sparked concerns about the team's hiring practices. In the subsequent games, RCB was forced to go with other bowlers.

2. Suyash Sharma

Suyash Sharma was supposed to strengthen the spin department after being purchased for ₹2.6 crore. But in 12 games, he only claimed 5 wickets at an economy rate of 9.02 and an average of 81.20.  His performance for KKR during the 2024 Indian Premier League was a far cry from that.

His entire performance did not support his inclusion in the squad, as his best numbers were 2/26. His inconsistent bowling action made it easy for opposing hitters to put his short pitch deliveries beyond the boundary in the tiny Bengaluru venue.

3. Liam Livingstone

Liam Livingstone of England was expected to be a game-changer due to his all-around skills when he was bought for ₹8.75 crore. He had a reputation for hitting powerful strokes and bowling with leg spin and strong off-ball. He was meant to work in the spin department alongside Krunal Pandya.

Regretfully, he only managed to score 87 runs in 8 games, with the highest score being 69, at an average of 17.40 and a strike rate of 127.94. With just two wickets at an economy rate of 8.44, his bowling contributions were insignificant. In the last league game, RCB gave him a chance, and he made a golden duck.
