Delhi Capitals had started the season on a high, winning four matches in a row, but somehow faded away as the tournament progressed. They could not keep up with their performances and used to miss the opportunity at the wrong time. As a result, they could not qualify. However, some players did an excellent job, and the team might retain them.
1. Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc was on song this season for the Delhi Capitals and kept providing important breakthroughs for the team. He started the season looking a bit scratchy but was able to get back into the groove soon enough and was winning matches for Delhi.
Before returning back to his country due to the break in the IPL, he played a total of 11 matches this season, where he was able to scalp away 14 wickets with an economy of 10.16. He had taken away as many as 5 wickets in a single game and won the match single-handedly.
2. KL Rahul
The most consistent batter in the team, KL Rahul, had another good season with the bat. He had joined the team a game late due to his personal reasons of family, but when he did come back, he did not let the team down and looked in complete free flow.
He played a total of 13 matches where he slammed 539 runs, out of which he remained not out on three of those occasions. Maintaining an astounding average of 53.90 and a strike rate of 149.72, he was among the best batters of the tournament. He also had three half-centuries and a century to his name in this duration.
3. Kuldeep Yadav
One of the spinners and bowlers of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League, Kuldeep Yadav, was the standout bowler for the Delhi Capitals. He bowled beautifully throughout the season, teasing the batters to hit him for runs and lose their wicket.
Although he did not get as many wickets as he should have, keeping in mind how beautifully he bowled, he still managed to get 15 wickets from 14 games. He had the best economy in the season, only behind Jasprit Bumrah, giving away just 7.07 runs per over.
4. Vipraj Nigam
Vipraj Nigam has to be the find of the season for the Delhi Capitals. The 20-year-old lad was sensational for them with his consistent performances, contributing in every game either with the bat or the ball.
Making his debut in the league, he played all 14 matches for the team and scalped away 11 wickets with an economy of 9.12, which included the names of heavyweights such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He was also handy with the bat, smashing 142 runs at a strike rate of 179.74, finishing matches for the team.
5. Ashutosh Sharma
The dedicated finisher of the team, Ashutosh Sharma, was bought this season at the mega auctions from Punjab Kings. He did have a decent season with the bat, as he finished a couple of games for the team, but he would be looking to further improve his game in the coming season.
Striking at the rate of 160.62, he had hit 204 runs from nine innings of the 13 matches he played this season. His knocks include 14 boundaries and 13 humongous sixes. He is just 26 years old and has a lot of room for improvement, which is why Delhi would definitely love to retain him.
