Gujarat Titans dominated the points table for the majority of the season but had hit their slump at the very wrong time, which ultimately led them to finish third in the table and then get eliminated as well. However, some players were fantastic throughout the season, and the team would definitely like to retain them. Here are five such players.
1. Shubhman Gill
The leader of the pack, Shubhman Gill, was highly successful this season. He was brilliant on the field, with the changes in bowling, field placements and all other tactics. Although people say a majority of the credit for the same goes to their coach, Ashish Nehra. Despite that, he was sensational this season.
He led the team from the front with his consistent performances and amassed 650 runs. Scoring at a strike rate of 155.87 and averaging 50, he slammed six half-centuries this season and was among the highest run scorers of the tournament this year.
2. Sai Sudharsan
The batter with the most number of runs in the IPL 2025, Sai Sudharsan, was absolutely phenomenal. He smashed 759 runs with a strike rate of 156.17 and an astonishing average of 54.21 in 15 matches he played this year. Six half centuries and a sensational century were included in his runs tally.
He was already consistent with the runs in the last few years, but he further improved his game this year by improving his strike rate. As a result, he dominated the award list with as many as four awards to his name. Orange cap, Emerging player, Fantasy Kings of the season and Fours of the season were awarded to him.
3. Jos Buttler
The secret behind the success of the Gujarat Titans this year was mainly credited to the brilliant top order they had. Apart from their highly successful opening pair, Jos Buttler at number three did not just provide stability but also the explosiveness to finish the match there itself.
The 34-year-old had another fantastic year as he slammed 538 runs with an average of 59.77 and a strike rate of 163. He had hit five fifties this season and was unavailable for the playoffs due to national duty. It is said that the team lost due to his absence from the game. This shows the team’s dependency on him.
4. Prasidh Krishna
Gujarat Titans do not just have the Orange Cap for the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, but they do have the Purple Cap as well. Prasidh Krishna finished the season with the highest 25 wickets to his name and brought glory to the Gujarat Titans.
Bowling with just an economy of 8.27 and a superb average of 19.52, he was one of the deadliest bowlers this season. He could bowl in the powerplay, the middle overs, as well as the death overs, showing his versatility.
5. Sai Kishore
Sai Kishore emerged as the prime spinner for the Gujarat Titans, despite Rashid Khan being in the team. He was highly effective and successful with the ball, taking away as many as 19 wickets in just 15 games. He was not just taking wickets regularly, but was also not letting the opposition score too many runs off him.
Although he did trail off towards the latter end of the season, where he was still getting wickets but leaking away quite many runs along with it. As a result, he finished the season with an economy of 9.24, but still remained highly effective for the team.
