The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared the schedule of the IPL 2025 on Sunday, February 16. The prestigious tournament is just around the corner as it will get underway from March 23. Punjab Kings have appointed their new captain in the name of Shreyas Lyer, who will be leading the team. Shreyas will look to make his mark this season of IPL as captain and will want to make PBKS, the champion for the first time.
Punjab Kings will take on Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on March 25 in their first match of the season. Punjab Kings are dividing their home games between two exciting locations: New Chandigarh and Dharamshala. While New Chandigarh will host most of their matches, Dharamshala will host matches towards the end of the season, hosting three thrilling games.
PBKS will finish their league campaign with an away match against Rajasthan Royals. Each team will play 14 matches during the league phase, which comprises a total of 70 matches. The playoffs will be held from May 20 to May 25. Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will take place on May 20 and 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The tournament will conclude at the iconic Eden Garden with Qualifier 2 and the final being held in the city of Kolkata. Punjab Kings made some big changes in the auction. They signed Shreyas Lyer for Rs.26.75 crore making him the second most expensive player in IPL history. They also retained Arshdeep Singh for Rs.18 crore and then signed Yuzvendra Chahal for the same price.
