In quite an interesting turn of events, Gujarat put Lucknow to bat first, and they blew Gujarat out of the match. A scintillating ton from Mitchell Marsh and support from Pooran and Pant led the team to a mammoth total of 235. In reply, Gujarat started well, but their top order was gone before 10 overs, exposing their fragile middle order. And as expected, they could not do the job, losing by 33 runs.
This match was expected to be an easy win for the red-hot, in-form Gujarat Titans, securing their top-two position in the table. But with this loss, the top two places might not be guaranteed, as both Bengaluru and Punjab have a chance to reach 21 each, while Gujarat will be limited to a maximum of 20. This win will also give a huge boost to the team and management of Lucknow after a string of losses they have had.
