With a double-header clash on Sunday, there were quite a lot of changes in the points table as well as the race for the Orange and Purple Caps. Kolkata fought Rajasthan earlier in the day game, which proved to be a last-ball thriller. Finishing by Russell and Rinku took Kolkata to a good total of 206, and it looked a daunting total for Rajasthan as they lost five wickets at just 71, but a captain’s knock from Parag took them close. However, they could not cross the line at the end.
Punjab and Lucknow went head to head against each other in the other game of the day, where batting first, Punjab had put up another fantastic total on the board, owing to a great knock by Prabhsimran Singh. Other batters contributed well too. Bowlers were effective right from the start and took early wickets. Badoni and Samad did well, but the total proved to be too much as they lost by 37 runs.
