IPL 2025 resumption date revealed; Final to take place on June 3

In a newly released official statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has disclosed the new dates for the remainder of the IPL 2205 season. May 17, Saturday, will witness the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru.

According to the statement, a total of 17 matches will be played across six venues, starting May 17, 2025, and the season will conclude with the final on June 3, 2025. The revised schedule includes two double-headers, which will be played on two Sundays. 

In its statement, BCCI revealed that the campaign is all set to resume after the board and IPL Governing Council had extensive talks with the government officials, security agencies, and all stakeholders involved.

“The BCCI takes this opportunity to once again salute the bravery and resilience of India’s armed forces, whose efforts have enabled the safe return of cricket. The Board reaffirms its commitment to national interest while ensuring the successful completion of the league,” the IPL statement read.

Furthermore, the statement revealed that the playoffs are scheduled from May 29 to June 3. The venues for the playoff matches are yet to be announced, and they will be announced later in due course.
