According to the reports on ESPN Cricinfo, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to conduct the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from March 14 with the final scheduled to take place on May 25.

Furthermore, IPL 2026 will be played between March 15 and May 31 whereas IPL 2017 will take place between March 14 and May 30. Though IPL 2025 will have 74 matches, IPL 2026 and 2027 seasons are expected to have 84 and 94 matches respectively. 

It’s worth noting that IPL 2025 will clash with PSL 2025, which is usually held in the February and March window. With Pakistan having the hosting rights for the ICCChampions Trophy 2025, PCB has decided to postpone PSL 2025.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will enter the IPL 18th edition as the reigning champions after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2024 final.
