IPL 2025: When is CSK’s Next Match?

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spoiled the party for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their last game, winning by two wickets. Despite the victory, CSK remained at the bottom of the table with six points from 12 games and a net run rate of -0.992.

With two matches left, CSK fans will be hoping for back-to-back wins to end what has been a disappointing season on a positive note. CSK’s next match is against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 12 May in Chennai. RR are currently in ninth place, also with six points from 12 games, and a net run rate of -0.718.

Match details

Fixture: Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals
Date & Time: May 12, 2025, 7:30 PM IST
Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai

CSK Probable XI

Ayush Mhatre, Urvil Patel, Devon Conway, Ravindra Jadeja, Dewald Brevis, R Ashwin, MS Dhoni (capt, wk), Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmad, Khaleel Ahmed, Matheesha Pathirana.

CSK are most likely to stick with the same playing XI from their last game against KKR. Youngsters like Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel are expected to be preferred—and why not! Despite his failure against KKR, Ayush has shown promise, and what an explosive debut it was for Urvil in Kolkata.

Devon Conway should get another chance despite a two-ball duck in the last game, as it would be harsh to drop someone after just one outing. Dewald Brevis has been outstanding, especially with the bat and also in the field. His innings shifted the momentum in their favour against KKR and played a crucial role.

Players like Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube are expected to step up with more impactful contributions. Ravichandran Ashwin might get another opportunity, considering the slow nature of the Chennai pitch. MS Dhoni will once again be the key player to watch, known for his brilliant leadership.

The three pacers are likely to be Anshul Kamboj, Matheesha Pathirana, and Khaleel Ahmed. Noor Ahmad, after his Player of the Match performance against KKR, will look to continue his form against RR, especially in home conditions. Shivam Dube is most likely to be the impact substitute.
