IPL 2025: When is CSK's Next Match?

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) started their IPL 2025 campaign on a positive note with a win over Mumbai Indians (MI), but they could not carry that momentum forward and suffered a defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their next game.

Both matches were played at their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, giving them a great opportunity to register back-to-back wins and take an early lead in the points table.

However, Ruturaj Gaikwad and his team failed to capitalize on home advantage, and with one win and one loss, they now sit in seventh place with two points and a net run rate of -1.013. With their first away fixture coming up, CSK will be eager to bounce back when they face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Guwahati on March 30.

Opponent and match details

RR have had a disappointing start to their campaign, suffering defeats in both of their matches. They currently find themselves at the bottom of the points table in 10th place, with a net run rate of -1.882. In the absence of regular captain Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag has been leading the team, but some of his decisions have come under scrutiny.

The upcoming clash against Chennai Super Kings will be his final match as stand-in skipper, as Samson is expected to return for the following game. Adding to their struggles, Rajasthan’s bowling unit has lacked impact, failing to deliver match-turning spells in either of their games so far.

  • Date: Sunday, March 30

  • Time: 7:30 PM IST

  • Venue: Barsapra Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

Probable XI for Chennai Super Kings

Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Vijay Shankar, Shivam Dube, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (wk), R Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed

Head-to-Head record

In 29 IPL matches so far, CSK have won 16 times, while RR have managed 13 victories. However, these two teams have never faced each other at this venue, making it a historic occasion for cricket fans in Guwahati. The match will also be special as it offers the home crowd a chance to witness MS Dhoni in action alongside their own RR team.
