IPL 2025: When is DC’s Next Match? All you need to know about their Opponent, Probable XI, & head-to-head stats

Delhi Capitals (DC) were in a spot of bother against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last game of the ongoing IPL 2025 in Hyderabad after posting only 133/7 in 20 overs. But then, the rain struck and the match was called off. 

As a result, both teams were awarded one point each, and that point has helped DC stay alive in the playoff race as they are currently in fifth spot with 13 points in 11 games, with a net run rate of +0.362. 

They at least need to win two out of their three remaining games for a place in the playoffs, and their next opponent is Punjab Kings (PBKS) on 8 May in Dharamsala. PBKS are in the second spot with 15 points in 11 games, with a net run rate of +0.376.

DC Probable XI 

Abishek Porel, Faf du Plessis, Karun Nair, KL Rahul (wk), Axar Patel (capt), Tristan Stubbs, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan.

DC are expected to go with an unchanged playing XI. Abishek Porel, Faf du Plessis, and Karun Nair are their top three batters. Although they all failed cheaply against Pat Cummins in their last game against SRH, they are still expected to make a comeback. 

KL Rahul is the wicket-keeper batter, but he also needs to step up his game with the bat. Axar Patel is the skipper, followed by Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam. Both of them batted decently and showed some fight in their last game. As an impact sub, Ashutosh Sharma or Mukesh Kumar is expected to be considered. 

In the last game, Ashutosh played a counterattacking knock that helped his team reach a decent total. Starc, Chameera, and Natarajan are expected to be the pace trio, as it would be harsh to drop Natarajan just after one game where he didn’t get any opportunity to bowl. Kuldeep Yadav is their main spinner.
