IPL 2025: When is DC’s Next Match? All you need to know about their Opponent, Probable XI, & head-to-head stats

Delhi Capitals’ (DC) hopes for the playoffs in the ongoing IPL 2025 faced a setback as their last clash against PBKS was called off due to a significant technical failure at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. 

Currently, DC are in fifth spot with 13 points from 11 games, with a net run rate of +0.362. Considering that one point will be awarded from the suspended clash, DC can still reach up to 18 points if they win their remaining two matches. 

That might be enough to secure a playoff berth, but the net run rate could come into play as well. DC’s next match was supposed to be against Gujarat Titans (GT) on 11 May in Delhi. However, with the IPL suspension, the new date is yet to be out. GT are currently at the top of the table with 16 points from 11 games, with a net run rate of +0.793.

Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul (wk), Abishek Porel, Sameer Rizvi, Axar Patel (capt), Tristan Stubbs, Madhav Tiwari, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan.

DC are expected to go with the same playing XI. Faf du Plessis, Karun Nair, and Abishek Porel are likely to be the top three batters. Karun Nair could also be used as the Impact Sub. Sameer Rizvi has not lived up to expectations so far, but DC are expected to continue showing faith in him. 

Skipper Axar Patel and KL Rahul will be crucial in the middle order, followed by Tristan Stubbs. Madhav Tiwari was handed a debut cap in their last game against PBKS, where he bowled only one over before the match was called off. It would be harsh if he doesn’t get another chance to showcase his talent just after his debut. 

Starc, Chameera, and Natarajan will be the pace bowling options, while Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin attack. Along with Karun Nair, Ashutosh Sharma can also be considered as an Impact Sub. 

Head-to-Head record   

Only six matches have been played so far between these two sides, with GT and DC winning three matches each. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, GT defeated DC by seven wickets. With a playoff spot on the line, it remains to be seen whether GT can complete a league double or if DC will bounce back to keep their playoff hopes alive.
