IPL 2025: When is GT’s Next Match? All you need to know about their Opponent, Probable XI, & head-to-head stats

Gujarat Titans (GT) had a golden opportunity to reclaim the top spot in the points table by winning their last game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur. However, they missed out due to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s historic knock. 

With 12 points in nine games and a healthy net run rate of +0.748, GT are currently placed third. Their next challenge is against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Ahmedabad. Although SRH have struggled this season — sitting in the ninth spot with six points in nine games and a net run rate of -1.103 — GT cannot afford to take them lightly. 

This match is crucial for GT, as a win will further strengthen their playoff chances. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, GT defeated SRH by seven wickets in Hyderabad.

GT Probable XI 

Shubman Gill (capt), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wk), Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

GT seem to have found a settled playing XI, with all players clearly aware of their roles. Hence, despite the loss against RR, no major changes are expected for their next game. 

Shubman Gill, who did not take the field and was substituted during the RR match, was replaced temporarily by Rashid Khan as stand-in captain. After the game, Gill confirmed that he had suffered a back spasm and chose not to risk it, but he is expected to be fully fit for the upcoming match.

Gill and Sai Sudharsan will continue as the two openers, followed by Jos Buttler at number three. The middle order will consist of Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, and Karim Janat. 

Washington Sundar, along with Rashid Khan and R Sai Kishore, will handle the spin department, while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna are expected to lead the pace attack.  

Head-to-Head record   

Only five IPL matches have been played between these two teams, with GT dominating by winning four times compared to SRH’s single victory. All eyes will be on GT to see if they can continue this dominance, or if SRH can halt it with a crucial win in Ahmedabad.
