Gujarat Titans (GT) have returned to the top of the IPL 2025 points table following a thrilling win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai. They now have 16 points from 11 games, with a healthy net run rate of +0.793. 

With three group-stage matches remaining, their primary aim will be to secure a top-two finish heading into the playoffs. Up next, they face Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi on 11 May. DC are also firmly in the playoff race, currently placed fifth with 13 points from 11 games and a net run rate of +0.362.

Considering their current momentum, it is unlikely that the GT will make any changes to their playing XI from the last game. Throughout this season, the top-order trio of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler has been their main X-factor. 

Even in the previous match against the MI, apart from Sai, both Gill and Buttler got promising starts before getting out, which made things a bit tricky. However, impactful cameos from Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan helped GT chase down the target successfully. Both Rashid Khan and Gerald Coetzee are expected to play key roles once again with bat and ball. 

Sherfane Rutherford, who played a brilliant cameo that shifted the momentum in GT's favour, is likely to be used again as an impact substitute. In the pace department, Coetzee will be supported by Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Arshad Khan. Sai Kishore will continue to serve as an additional spin-bowling option alongside Rashid.

These two teams have faced each other six times so far in the IPL, with both winning three matches each. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by seven wickets.

As a result, GT will now have the chance to complete a league double over DC. On the other hand, a win here for DC will significantly boost their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
